Why Choose OLSH?
As a Marist school, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic College prides itself on being a place where people are welcomed and where hospitality is offered to all who visit our community. This “family spirit” is a characteristic of Marist schools where relationships are marked by warmth and tenderness. Inspired by the home of Nazareth we develop attitudes that make family spirit a reality: love and forgiveness, support and help, forgetfulness of self, openness to others, and joy.
At Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic College we are part of an educational vision that has at its heart a desire to strive for excellence and offer opportunities to students that will assist them to become “good Christians and good citizens”. Gratitude, readiness to listen and respect for others are qualities we value. With this in mind we strive to foster an environment that promotes academic excellence; where learning is valued. We encourage the attitude that it is good to “have a go”. To this end we recognise and affirm students’ efforts, not just achievements.
Enrolment Applications and Enquiries
Enrolment applications and enquiries are welcome at any time, but are preferred before the end of March in the year of commencement. After that time, offers are made only on a places-available basis. Enrolment application forms and a College Prospectus are available from each Campus office and may be obtained by personal visit, telephone, e-mail request or by downloading them from this web page (see below). Enrolment interviews are conducted by the Principal or when required by the appropriate Head of Campus. Parents and students are expected to make specific commitments to the College, abide by College expectations, and support the faith dimension, ethos and educational endeavours of the College. The Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE) is awarded at the end of Year 12 and is recognised for entry purposes by all tertiary institutions in Australia.
